Safety stats released for Road Safety Week

Road Safety Week has begun, with statistics showing that 77% of fatalities are due to vehicle collisions.

In addition, 43% of road injuries are due to body stressing.

Further statistics from the road transport industry are now available in the road transport industry profile.

Based on the latest data on worker fatalities and workers compensation claims in the road transport industry, this profile includes statistics on the nature, circumstances and main causes of injuries, illnesses and fatalities in this industry.
