Queensland Safety Show 2013
The Queensland Safety Show and CleanScene: The National Cleaning & Hygiene Expo last week in Brisbane had some innovative products on display.
The best stand award winners included Ugly Fish Eyewear for the ‘18m2 and under’ stand, Atom Supply for ‘over 18m2’ stand and Doka Formwork for the best stand by a new exhibitor.
Ugly Fish Eyewear displayed its safety glasses and multifunctional safety goggles, showcasing how the durable eyewear range is designed to optimise as well as protect workers’ vision during tough jobs. Atom Supply displayed facilities maintenance products ranging from clothing to tools. Meanwhile, Doka Formwork displayed its systematic safety systems aimed at reducing workplace accidents and increasing productivity as well as safety.
The Queensland Government Department of Industrial Relations Workplace Health and Safety Innovation Awards Winner, Bailey Hand Trucks, was also at the event showcasing its hand trolleys. The trolleys feature a pivoting easy-tilt axle, which is claimed to reduce the effort required to tilt a loaded hand trolley rearward by around 60%. Simply due to a change in the centre of gravity, a load of 300 kg is said to feel equal to a load of only 120 kg.
