Free webinar: the mind and risk profiles of young people
Understanding how young people think and the rationale behind the risks they take may be an important insight into helping to keep them safe on the job.
WorkCover Queensland will be holding a free, one-hour webinar on 9 July at noon EST that looks at how understanding the mind and risk profiles of a young person can influence their health, safety and return to work following an injury.
More than 25% of claims received in 2013–14 were for injuries sustained by young workers, according to WorkCover Queensland. In some industries, such as retail and food and accommodation, this number is even higher.
The guest speaker from Sentis will explore this topic and look at what leaders and supervisors can do to influence young people’s behaviour. Topics to be covered include:
- risk profiles
- generational differences towards safety
- considerations for safety and rehabilitation at work
The webinar will also look at specific rehabilitation cases involving young workers and discuss strategies and tips that can be implemented to optimise rehabilitation and return to work goals.
