Entries open for Qld’s 2016 Safe Work Awards
Entries are now open across 13 categories in Queensland’s Safe Work and Return to Work Awards for 2016, which recognise and celebrate outstanding WHS achievements.
Winners have the chance to win up to $2000 in prize money per category for their examples of workplace safety and return to work solutions.
Entrants from last year ranged from small to medium businesses, large organisations, councils and health services.
DECMIL Australia’s SHIELD program won the 2015 category, Best Work Health and Safety Management System, while Buildsafe Queensland took out Highly Commended with its electronic safety management system that is helping to lower its workers compensation premium and steadily decrease its injury rate each year.
Entries for both individuals and organisations close Friday, 26 June 2016. To see past entry examples, or for more information, visit worksafe.qld.gov.au.
