Safety boot manufacturer giving back for breast cancer awareness
Australian safety boot manufacturer Steel Blue is celebrating its 15-year partnership with Breast Cancer Care WA by doubling donations from the sales of its ladies’ fit pink and purple boots to $20 throughout the month of May. To date, Steel Blue has raised approximately $1.6 million in support of breast cancer care support services.
Over 160,000 pink and purple charity boots have been sold. Steel Blue CEO Garry Johnson put the rising demand for female fit-for-purpose work boots down to a recognition that boots tailored to complement the shape of ladies’ feet provide superior comfort, fit and protection.
“Sports shoes, hiking boots, wellington boots and even thongs all come in versions specifically designed to complement women’s unique foot structure, yet most industrial footwear continues to be made for men with women forced to wear smaller versions of a man’s boot. This made no sense to us,” Johnson said.
Throughout May 2022, Steel Blue will double its donations to charity partner Breast Cancer Care WA. For every pair of ladies fit pink and purple boots sold, $20 will go towards supporting women dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis.
