Vic farm worker fatally crushed by seed bags

WorkSafe Victoria is investigating an incident that occurred at a Tottenham warehouse on 2 May 2024, in which a forklift operator died after being crushed. It is understood that the 63-year-old man was attempting to repair a ripped bag of animal feed when three one-tonne bags stacked on top of it fell and crushed him at around 2:30 pm.

The death is the 15th confirmed workplace fatality for 2024; there were 27 work-related deaths at the same time last year.
