Dickies safety footwear extended range

Wednesday, 26 February, 2014

Dickies has introduced 14 styles of safety footwear and improved six existing styles.

The PU/rubber sole lines have good shock absorption and are heat resistant to 300°C; they are high slip resistant and have non-clogging sole patterns; extra comfort is provided with the moisture wicking lining and a removable footbed.

The company has also introduced an ESD trainer, the Alford, which is suitable for people working in the electronics industry as ESD footwear provides a safe and controlled method of discharging static electricity that accumulates in the body.

Safety footwear standard EN345 has been superseded by EN ISO 20345 and the company’s entire footwear range has been recertified to the new standard.

The company says comfort, durability and lighter weight are design considerations in their range of footwear. With the trend for safety footwear to look less like an item of safety footwear, the company has reduced the shape of the upper profile by applying it lower into the sole unit.
