The Millsom Air Balance Hoist and Power-Free Rail system provides control for the handling of heavy materials in manufacturing and component assembly operations.
The hoist has a manoeuvrable three-dimensional power-free rail system which provides hoisting with the addition of a floating function, providing weightless vertical movement up to 300 mm. It automatically changes to floating state when the up-and-down motion stops and exhibits no jumping phenomena, providing control when handling goods from workstation to workstation.
The hoist has safety features including a brake lock mechanism that prevents the load from falling if the air supply fails or is overloaded; it also produces a bell sound by discharging air when an overload is applied.
The system has hoisting speeds from 1 to 1000 mm/sec (using 6.9 bar/100 psi air pressure) and is regulated using a control valve.
Standard models are available from 60 to 1000 kg (based on 6.9 bar/100 psi air pressure).
