Thursday, 11 September, 2014

The National Emergency Response Show (ERS) is a three-day industry event for professionals within the emergency response industry. Being held at Exhibition Park in Canberra from 23-25 September, the show will feature a comprehensive range of products and services that cater for emergency services personnel including safety, security, environment, engineering, mining, police and fire.

Products on show include the Noptic thermal imaging camera, which can be used for night-time surveillance; the Aeryon Skyranger aerial surveillance; the nav-comm group Nav-ID technology for explosive/narcotic analysis and vehicle screening; and the Inviso under-vehicle detection system.

Rescue, recovery and safety products are also integral to the show, with some products set to be demonstrated with live ‘rescues’ at Exhibition Park. Skylotec Australia will be demonstrating its rescue equipment. Constructed in milled aircraft aluminium, the Milan 2.0 Rescue and Evacuation device enables rescuers to quickly recover a fallen worker and has an option for a powered lift if evacuation to the ground is not an option. Skylotec will also be launching its ‘Peanut’ range of retractable lanyards at the show.

Other products on show include: the Sensear Smart Muffs for high-noise environments, which simultaneously combine speech enhancement with noise suppression; the Mantra safety helmet, which has been tested to 11 different standards and has optional forestry mesh and marine visors; and the Stream 150N life jackets, which feature an asymmetric-shaped bladder to ensure a good fit.
