Monday, 18 December, 2006

A new deputy president has been appointed to the NSW Workers Compensation Commission.

William J Roche commenced the seven-year role today, after more than 20 years of practice as a barrister of the Supreme Court of NSW.

"Mr Roche holds extensive experience in and knowledge of workers compensation law from over 15 years in practice in the former Compensation Court of NSW, the District Court and more recently in the Workers Compensation Commission," NSW Minister for Commerce, John Della Bosca said.

In March 2006, Roche was appointed as an acting deputy president to the Workers Compensation Commission and is now one of the commission's two full-time deputy presidents.
