Safety on the Field

There are many known safety hazards and incidents that pose a risk to those working outdoors on golf courses, football fields, university lawns and other grounds. As a result, it is vital that workers receive proper information and training to learn how to prevent, minimise and mitigate these risks. With this in mind, Pro-Visual Publishing, in conjunction with Sports Turf Associations and Turf Growers Associations across Australia, has released the latest edition of the Sporting Amenities Guide to Workplace Safety.

The guide is a vital resource for all workers in the sporting amenities sector to help ensure their health and safety, and cover a range of topics, including:

  • Ride-on mower safety.
  • Incident management, such as pesticide poisoning.
  • Sunburn and heat stress.
  • Causes and symptoms of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI).

Along with these topics, the guide also provides a window to further resources that users can access by downloading the free Pro-Vis AR app and scanning over Augmented Reality (AR) capable content.

“I would like to thank all the sponsors of the Sporting Amenities Guide to Workplace Safety 2017/18. Their support has made it possible for the Guide to be distributed free of charge.” – John Hutchings, CEO, Pro-Visual Publishing.
