GAAM Emergency Products has been awarded the contract to manufacture and supply 127 MK300 diesel powered pumps for the Country Fire Authority (CFA).

CFA is responsible for controlling fires in regional Victoria and outer metropolitan Melbourne and attending emergencies such as road accidents, chemical spills and search and rescue. CFA has over 1400 fire trucks in the field including tankers, pumpers and rescue vehicles.

The GAAM firefighting pumps will be installed on CFA’s new fire trucks and can provide high flow rates and pressures to meet fire ground requirements. The GAAM MK300 pump is a powerful, low maintenance pump offering pressures up to 1580 kPa and flow rates to 1400 l/min. The MK300 pump features hydraulically balanced bronze impellers, a mechanical seal, replaceable bronze wear rings, a four-position discharge outlet and a lightweight aluminium alloy body.

Each two stage MK300 pump is close coupled to a Hatz 2L41C diesel engine. Various Hatz engine models are available to provide alternative pump flow rates and pressures.

GAAM has worked with CFA for many years. According to GAAM business manager Ian Price the company was selected for this project due to GAAM’s proven expertise, reliability and timely service delivery.
