The DSL-7000 is a combined carbon monoxide and opacity monitor for continuous in situ emissions measurements.

Using two separate optical benches - one infrared for CO and one visible for opacity - the product is capable of monitoring emissions and combustion efficiency in mg/m3.

Measurements are reported in opacity (%), volumetric density (mg/m3), Ringelmann, extinction and a number of logarithmic functions. The CO is measured using the widely accepted NDIR principle and displayed in ppm, vpm and mg/m3.

The monitor is a cross stack analyser, measuring the concentration across the width of the stack to give a representative measurement of CO and particulate levels. Both CO and particulate readings are calibrated accurately using the methodology detailed in European standard EN14181. The instrument consists of a pair of sensors (a transmitter and receiver) mounted on the stack using standard flange fittings and an operator interface (a control unit) fitted up to 1 km away, either at the base of the stack or in a control room.

The system is compatible with a variety of generic bus systems, such as Modbus, Profibus, DeviceNet and ethernet. The operator interface allows for the input of up to four external measurements, such as temperature, pressure, oxygen and moisture.
